Poorly dog :(

My dog hasn't been himself the past few days. He seems very distant and tired all the time, also he keeps sort of vibrating every now and then
He has Epilepsy and is on Epiphen tablets. We took him to the vets yesterday who did some blood tests, 1 thing that came back is that he is dehydrated, we have to wait until Thursday for the rest of the results. If they're all clear then the vet wants to do a brain scan.
Is there anything anyone can suggest to make him feel a bit better? He is on dry food but i'm wondering if there is anything I can add to this to help with the dehydration.
It's just not the same without him causing mischieve all day

Hello
My spaniel is just over ten years old, has very poor eyesight and is diabetic on daily insulin so consequently she HAS to eat. I am a great believe in bribes. So, I use chicken poached, and white fish also poached (because of fat content for my dog), sometimes with veg, green beans, cauli, broccoli, carrots anything that I think she might try. I also use the liquid that the food has been poached in (only a small amount in my own case) to pour on basic biscuit food. This hopefully will encourage the dog to eat and 2) will stimulate the dogs to need to drink
Milk, watered down if desired is helpful (again I use skimmed but she seems to like it) and have been known to put in the occasional egg, whipped into the milk giving both food and liquid.
To tell if your dog is dehydrated is the same as when a human is dehydrated. You just pinch a piece of skin and see how fast it slides back into place,. If it goes back immediately everything is okay, if goes back slowly then dehydration is there. Also the medication can sometimes make a dog lethargic, depends on how long he has been on it, how often he takes it, how old he is all kinds of variables. Glad you keeping an eye on the weight, and the weight loss is really quite minimal for a bit dog. I weight my dog at the vets when I collect her insulin - its always a good guide.
So there we have it, hope this is a bit helpful

Thank you, I will try soaking his biscuits in some water. He did perk up a bit earlier but is now sleeping. He's been on the medication just over a year so this shouldn't be making him tired, although him loosing weight may suggest he needs a lower dose? The vet phoned again today to see how he is and suggested he might have some kind of infection, we have dropped his tablet dose down slightly and will just have to wait for the rest of the results to come back tommorow or Thursday
P.s: The weight loss in my signature is my weight loss, he is only a tiny dog, although a bit overweight at 12 kg.Virgin CC=£2652, Next= [STRIKE]£102.88,[/STRIKE] Very=£475.60, Natwest=£800, Sainsburys CC=£1777.02, Lloyds CC=£498.29, Lloyds Loan= £13,946.18, Car=£4000Total = [STRIKE]£26,147.23[/STRIKE] £23,849.09:eek:0 -
Just to update: the results are back from the vet and everything is ok. The dog seems to be causing trouble again now as well . He has had his tablets reduced and the vet seems to think these are what was making him tired, we just have to monitor him for now.Virgin CC=£2652, Next= [STRIKE]£102.88,[/STRIKE] Very=£475.60, Natwest=£800, Sainsburys CC=£1777.02, Lloyds CC=£498.29, Lloyds Loan= £13,946.18, Car=£4000Total = [STRIKE]£26,147.23[/STRIKE] £23,849.09:eek:0
