Really dumb question about Lexmark X1270

Hi all
I am feeling a bit stupid having to post and ask this but I have lost the instructions to my printer (Lexmark X1270) and am seriously considering throwing it out the window if I can't get it up and running soon!
All I can see at the back of the printer is the bit where the cable modem connects to the PC. No socket for the power cable
I had a look on the Lexmark website and the bit where they say to plug it in, theres no hole to feasably plug anything in.....
Can anyone help? It is generally accepted that I am technically inept but not being able to plug in a power cable is a new low even for me :rotfl:
Thanks,
S x

My dad had a similar model to that one, and IIRC it had an unusual arrangement where a small grey box (an external power supply) plugged into a wide slot in the back. I ~think~ the power lead was hard-wired into the power supply box.0

as far as I am aware - the x1270 is connected using a USB cable which is should be supplied with - (the end which plugs into your lexmark should have a square shaped socket ).
This plugs into either your PC or a USB hub
the power is (as said above) usually a small transformer which slots into the back of the printerDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -

She's found the USB port (though she calls it a cable modem?), it's the power socket she can't locate I thinkNo free lunch, and no free laptop

haha yeh thats right, I couldn't remember the name! So I have found the USB port, just struggling a bit with the power... I will go and have a look now for a grey box shaped thing then!
Thanks again

I know we had it when we moved as the printer worked then so it must be in one of the boxes upstairs...0

Well it might be an idea to find it first, otherwise the whole exercise is rather academic...No free lunch, and no free laptop

All manuals in PDF format are here...

Yours is part of the 1200 series so that should be exactly what you've misplaced.Pants0 -
So it appears to be just to the right of the USB port as you face the rear of the printer...No free lunch, and no free laptop
