Property Watch is part of the delusion

From the Guardian:
In the circus that is reality television we scoff and sneer at the parade of amateurs and half-wits whose lack of talent or skill is what passes for light entertainment in modern Britain.
In last night's Property Watch, which runs all this week on BBC2, we saw the same line up of delusional individuals and hopeless dreamers.
These people were conned by cheap television shows that told everyone you can't lose by "investing" in property. They were conned by the bankers who picked up huge bonuses selling on high-risk mortgages as triple-A securities. No matter how much these shows suggest we will return to "normality" before long, it was never normality in the first place. And we will be paying the price for the last decade of excess lending and unearned bonuses for many more decades to come.

Did the reviewer actually watch the show? I thought it was balanced if a bit tabloid in style.0

I didn't think the programme was that bad either. Kind of a general introduction to the perils of a bursting property bubble for the oblivious masses.
But in another year or two, maybe we'll get a more hard-hitting programme on the subject.0 -

Some people really do believe this will be all over and we will be back to 2007 levels...What will it take for them to get a reality check....this is going to cost some people a fortune. It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -

I can't find the thread on the Gloucester landlady: but its awful, and she keeps laughing, I'm just so gobsmacked. And if she thinks she can make money in dealing horses ATM, well, she knows something a lot of the very good studs who can't move much right now don't know. Its just how much she keeps laughing I find a bit, well, odd.0
