Cheap Accommodation In Edinburgh

I'm going to Auld Reekie in June for a weekend. Can anyone recommend reasonably priced accommodation, preferably near the city centre?

Thanks

I would suggest the Travelodge which is more or less in the city centre, if there are two of you or a family, it works out very reasonable...... we never eat breakfast in the lodges, much too expensive, there are always plenty of coffee shops about.

Further out, there is a Premiertravelinn just off the A1, very close to the large Fort Kinnard shopping centre. The advantage is that there is a bus stop opposite the hotel which drops you off at North Bridge next to the railway station, it takes about twenty five minutes, the restaurant in the hotel is excellent and not the usual Beefeater type place.

However, if you consider that one, ensure that you book a room at the front as the is a railway line running very close to the hotel at the back, too close for comfort!

Jurys Inn is supposed to be OK, close to the railway startion, too.

    Good luck!

You dont say how many people you want it for, but travelodge is central and will be fine OR look for a B&B

    try

for more suggestions. If you book 30 days ahead, you can get good deal at Jury's Inn, which is right beside the railway station (which is a nice area) and only around the corner from travelodge.

I personally couldnt be bothered getting a bus into the centre of town every day as it would take ages at rush hour and cheap day tickets are only valid after 9.30am and it's handy to be walkable to the hotel if you are shattered from sightseeing (Edinburgh is hilly !)

    Have a great time :)
