If the material is actually worn then its gonna be difficult to repair.... Asda and Tesco do really cheap suit type trousers...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Probably can't be used as trousers anymore... but cut up for use as cleaning cloths or rags for the garage.0

If the material is just frayed, it might be worth getting some soft iron on fabric in the same colour, and iron it onto the inside of the trousers. I used to do this to the knees of my son's school trousers rather than put a patch on the outside.0

I remember my Mum doing that with my brother's trousers, before he'd even had a chance to wear them. She swore it made them last longer.0 -

Actually, in places like Oxfam, anything that doesn't make the grade to be sold in the shop, does get sorted into big plastic sacks to go to fabric sorting plant for recycling/ redistribution to other stores/ donated to 3rd world etc. They sell this on to rag dealers, so they still make a bit of money from it. Just make sure it's clean.... it's not nice being a shop volunteer & opening up a bag of manky donations :eek:Competition wins: 09/12 bottle of cognac; 01/13 combi microwave0
