Problems with Sky

Thanks everyone, local engineer quoted around £50 so not that different from Sky, strangely the reception seems to have improved although not perfect on its own
so still not sure whats going on, great suggestions though.
Possibly the sky is clear of cloud which would help the situation, the weather can have a detrimental effect on the signal strength if the dish is slightly out of alignment and there is heavy cloud/rain.0 -
I eventually fixed my Sky reception problem a couple of years ago by changing the LNB myself (~£12).
I was having problems with some channels whilst others were fine. It took me some time before I realised that the problems only occurred when it was very sunny, so assumed the LNB was 'going off' when hot.:j

Before buying a new LNB, try to see if you can move your dish by hand, if it is loose it may just need tweaking slightly, most LNB's are very reliable and last for years.0
