My AA Membership is due to be renewed.

I have Option 200 which I think is roadside plus relay for £75.50p - this renewal seems to be increasing by about £5 a year even though I hav'nt called them out for sometime.

Is there any other alternatives?

Yes, AutoAid has been discussed many times here. Do a search to find all the threads.
Essentially it's a "pay and claim" service (although I didn't have to pay last time they attended) and offers a similar level of cover to the top AA package (which is £120+) for £32!
I've been using them a while and have no complaints.
    Can I help?

I renewed online via quidco, and as a result I've got a nice £20 sitting tracked in my account.... just hope it turns to paid soon :D

    (effectively £20 off my membership)

Thanks for this advice, I just went onto quidco clicked on the link for AA - entered my membership number and postcode - it said I can not renew online and sais call 0800 085 2608 to renew.

What can I do if I do this I don't think I'll get my £20 from quidco?

Exactly, you will only get paid by Quidco if your whole transaction is completed online, as Quidco doesn't get anything if you don't sign up online!

mine said that too.... you need to call the AA, and tell them that you want to switch so that you can renew online (I was on automatic renewal for which I got a £20 M&S voucher last year ;))

They'll change it, then you should be able to log in and do it, but you can only do it online within a few weeks of your renewal date (6wks??)

    proxy error for me.....
  • Do you get a discount when you renew or do you pay the same as a new customer.
If you don't get a discount then open a "new" policy via quidco, topcashback or similar.
I buy my household insurance and car policy through Direcline, and for the past 2 years I have informed them I will not be renewing and have statred a new policy inline.

The best part is each time I open the "new" policy I pay the same minus 15-20% discount for being a new customer, and minus £10-£20 cashaback via topcashaback.
