in Credit cards
Just want to get things straight, we are going to Amsterdam for the weekend soon, usually for such a short time we take cash (euros from the post office) and settle the hotel bill by credit card.
I have a Nationwide Flex Accunt with debit card so do I understand correct that I will save money by getting the cash out when in Amsterdam (we were going to take £500 cash) if so how much.
Also should I use my Nationwide card for the hotel rather than a normal credit card.
I don't use my Flex Account much it is not my main account but it will be easy to paid in fund if this is the cheaper way.
I look forward to anyones comments :-/

a daily limit usually 250 a day from ATMs,you do not need to take cash, because you will have to exchange it,at commision and a poor rate, with your card from the ATM you get top Visa rate and no charege or commision fron NationwideTo be happy you need to make someone happy.0

Absolutely. The hotel will bill you in Euros so using your Nationwide Visa debit card will avoid the 'loading fee' that other credit and debit cards levy for foreign currency transactions.dobydog wrote:Also should I use my Nationwide card for the hotel rather than a normal credit card.
Also, having been to Amsterdam recently, I would advise you to pay by card whenever possible (restaurants, shops, etc.) but to also always keep a small amount of hard cash in your wallet as some smaller outlets either don't accept cards or only accept them if the transaction is above a certain amount. There are ATM's all over the place so you shouldn't be stuck for getting cash out.
Have a great trip. This space has been intentionally left blank0 -
