Nationwide CC

Have just cancelled my Nationwide CC. In their letter confirming that my account has been closed they have stated:

"Further should you wish to re-apply for a Nationwide Credit Card at any time in the future, you are welcome to do so(acceptance wiil be subject to status). However, any such account will only be offered at the ongoing interest rate and will not be subject to any low introductory rate that may be available at that time"

Have not seen this before. Are they trying to discourage tarts?

Oooh, hope you had a very good reason for cancelling a Nationwide CC. Reports on here show they are getting tougher with the approvals and it is one of those cards that you should always have, with no balance on it, for using overseas. It goes against the general rule of closing cards that are paid off

Should have explained-not gone mad just yet. Still have my Nationwide debit card for using abroad. Had too many credit cards-had to get rid of one-seemed logical.

However Nationwide CC would have provided you with full protection for foreign purchases if you had kept it. It is probably one of THE cc's you should always have with you, especially if you travel abroad.

There is no chance of me being abroad in the next 6 months.
I simply cancelled my Nationwide CC in the hope that I coud apply again in 6 months time and take up any offers available then. The last thing I expected was to be told that I was not eligible for any future offers.
