I've just made hot Weetabix with nothing but milk...

we also always had it crumble up with hot water and a little milk and still how I eat it now. My brother said he got funny looks at uni doing it that way!!

I can't be the only one who has to have enough cold milk to make them go like baby food can I?
I have to bash them and add enough milk to make sure there are no dry bits -but that they aren't runny-a sprinkle of sugar and away you go..

Any other cereal I have to put the milk in first and float the cereal on top so they have less chance to go soggy before I get them but weetabix ..soggy every time

mmm yes cornflakes and hot milk is really nice. i tried it with weetabix once and you're right it was yucky! my nanna always had it with hot water though, i might try it and see how it is!

I thought this was meant to be a money saving forum - now I have the urge to buy some weetabix, put three in a bowl with a tablespoon of sugar and pour hot milk over the lot....mmmm!

No you are not the only one!! I do it too. I crush them up before adding the cold milk, wait till it goes all soggy then add a bit of sugar and a bit more milk if its not runny enough! lol:D

If you live near an Aldi try theirs, apparently you can't tell the difference from the real thing. I prefer their fruit and fibre it's got far more "nice bits" than the Kelloggs version!! (and obviously much cheaper :cool:)

I think their weetie bix or whatever they're called, are 24 for 99p.

Growing up when I was a kid my parents couldn't afford shed loads of milk so my weetabix (always hot NEVER cold) was made by pouring boiling water over the weetabix and adding a spash of milk and sugar to taste. We used to do that as kids too. I just know I'm going to have to have it like that again for my breakfast over the weekend. :T I'll have to go out and buy some now. :rolleyes:

I had never heard of having them with cold milk before I met my boyfriend! Hot or cold though, both good but both with sugar.
