Going to Oz in December this year. Looking for self-catering apartments for four adults for a week in Sydney. It has been suggested that I look around Manley or Bondi for accommodation but this seems a little too far to travel into the city each day. Any recommendations out there on apartments in or just around the city.
Thanks

We are going to Sydney next month and have opted for Manly Beach. Whilst looking for places to stay I came across these apartments in Sydney with views of the Opera house. They have other places for rent in various places in Sydney too. Great value too!

I've been looking for our trip in February
I found these http://www.woolloomooloo-waldorf-apartments.com.au great location near the W hotel, walkable to the Opera House
Also found this site http://www.stayz.com.au/
If you go for Manly it would be good to get a seson ticket for the ferry/hydrofoil http://www.sydneyferries.nsw.gov.au/
There are other beaches around Bondi that are great, depends if you want to spend money on taxis after an evening out in Sydney. The buses do have air-con though.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -

We are also in Sydney in December, I have booked a 2 bedroom apartment at Maestri Towers which is part of the Oaks Group in Darling Harbour.
When in December are you travelling? Accomodation is already in pretty short supply for New Year due to the Ashes Cricket Tour and prices for this time are a lot more expensive.0 -
Travelling to Perth 9-16 Dec. Have already booked accommodation ok there. Sydney will be 16-23 December. Then 23-30 Dec Melbourne. Will be staying with relatives in Melbourne, so won't need to worry about accommodation there. Did have trouble with the flight bookings having to come back a day earlier than I wanted due to demand.
I have been looking around Darling Harbour, seems a good location. Will look up your apartment.
Thanks.I say what I like, I like what I say!0 -
Darling Harbour is a lovely area to stay in with food to die for ! You can get a ferry around the corner to the main harbour where the Opera House is.
I would def prefer to stay in Darling Harbour for a few extra $$$$ than in Manly and travel over every day. Saying that, Manly is lovely and the food over there is great to. It's just a personal opinion.****************************0 -
That is what I thought. My relatives suggested Manly as it is cheaper but its a 30 min ferry ride every day. Just looked up the Maestri hotel mentioned above and they have availability for my dates. It is a little bit more expensive, but hey how often do I travel to the other side of the world.
So thanks everyone for the help. Will book this one up before it goes.I say what I like, I like what I say!0 -
Darling harbour isn't that good for getting to beaches, depends if this is important to you. The main ferry terminal is called Circular Quay.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

As a sydney sider I can say everywhere in sydney is good to getting to beaches - as long as you're near the centre and not out west.0
