A Little Bit Of Help Please! (might be in wrong area!)

My mum asked me to right out a cheque for £3,000, from her Credit Card this week. She put it in the bank which would be Debit Card on the Wednesday, tonight I check her account! It says the cheque is unpaid, now what doesn't make sense is that they've made her go over drawn 2,500 odd!

Why have they done this? Is this aloud?

My mum rang the credit card people, but they told her to go to her local Barclays branch! Is this a mistake? If so whose?

I thought that if I cheque is uncleared then money doesn't come out of the account!

Please help, cause I'm upset for my mum!

u r right the, if the cheque has bounced, she shouldnt be overdrawn.
sometimes any credits bouncing take overnight to update, if its longer than that, then there is def some other debits on the account....
