Hi all *strangled voice* any pointers on how I can sort this out.:o

My itunes account is linked on my little laptop eeepc thang. This has no CD drive.

I've bought tunes from itunes and today I thought I'd try to be [STRIKE]stupid [/STRIKE] clever and download my cds from the house computer, tried to sync but it says in order to put the cds from the house computer then the itunes stuff has to be deleted.

Tried to be [STRIKE]stupid again[/STRIKE] clever and downloaded a program called Touch Copy in order to salvage my itunes stuff. Saved my originally tunes onto a file on the house computer. Can't work out out how to get them from the file to the itunes account or my ipod.

Then had another bright idea and got eeepc and plugged in ipod, thinking I'll be able to sync from orginal 'puter and all will be well.......result......nah. Again itunes bit says in order to sync all will (cds) be lost again.:wall:

Any ideas of how I can retrieve my music and download my cds and get my music from them too, without my head exploding.... purlease.:D

You need to plug it into iTunes and select the option from the options page to manually manage the music.

Well I did that but cannot for the life of me get the blasted thing to sync all my itunes back onto my ipod, just can't work it out.:o

When I uncheck it I get this message,

Are you sure you do not want to manually manage all your music and video.....all existing content will be replaced with the content of your itunes library.

So it appears that I can have either my cds or itunes but not both....or am I missing something glaringly obvious.:o:o:o:o:confused::confused::confused::confused:

ideally, you want to have everything on 1 computer... i'm not actually sure if you can sync manually over 2 computers.

as you've ripped the cd's you could drag these from one computer to another via your local network.. (or the other way around)

When it says you will lose all your music, it means the music on the iPod, not in iTunes. You can't change how you sync your iPod without wiping all the music stored on it. So when you change to manual sync, it will erase the music on your iPod. After it has done this, you can then add the music back from iTunes. You add music by dragging any song(s) you want to your iPod in the devices menu on the left hand side.

This might make things a bit clearer.

If you have it with the un-ticked "manage music automatically" options, then all you do is plug in your iPod and drag your songs from "Music" in iTunes onto your iPod.

What iPod are you using? You will need to download some 3rd party software to do this, and this is based on what iPod you are using.
