Suits should be fine, in fact most male teachers wear them these days.

    almost full time
lol A PGCE isn't LONG hours, it's ALL hours. There is a distinct lack of information before starting the course. Everyone thinks 'it'll be different for me, I'll be really organised' The truth is, it takes up 100% of your time, every waking hour.

Can you tell I'm nearing the end of mine and wishing I'd never started?

I would hold of buying tech stuff until the last possible minute, as machines get faster, smaller and cheaper all the time.

Same with books, you won't need as many as you think you will and can often pick them up second hand or at the union shop.

To be honest, I would sign up for a first aid course and get HepB jabs done.

I liked Sue Cowley's teaching survival manuals - but get them out of the library.

If you feel like scouring the library, then look up some interactive experiments and make up a card file of them - I found it an exceptionally useful thing to be able to whip out a demonstration at short notice as even the wow factor of an irrelevant but impressive experiment can a settle group down before you get onto the work in hand.

Past exam papers from the exam boards?
