Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: For legal reasons codes are not permitted on the Grabbit board and have been moved. If in doubt please read this and this for an explanation. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

I've just removed a couple of posts that had the discount code in so can I just remind everybody that codes must not be posted on Grabbit. Thanks :)

I added 2 creates of Rioja = £48 but when I add the 1,200 points coupon it still says £48. I know that £12 will be added to my tesco card (is that right?) but I still fail to see how this voucher gets me £48 off (or £48 added to my tesco card)?

Because clubcard points are worth four times as much if you spend them on deals as they are if you spend them in a Tesco store
Thanks to all who post constructively.

Great stuff - thanks to the OP. I've ordered my 12 bottles of Rioja and used the 1200 points code - rotten Tesco the code they sent me offered 1000 points. And delivery is set for the morning of my birthday, reckon I'll have a good day......

Usually when you use an extra points code, it says something like this:

1000 Extra Clubcard points
: £-0.01

(I copied this from an old order I made, minus the code, as not allowed on here!)

You will get the extra 1200 points added to your next Clubcard statement - any problems, ring Customer Services and they can check it's there.

1200 points are worth up to £48 in Clubcard deals (details on Tesco Clubcard site, or there are usually plenty of discussions on here about it!
Hope this helps.

So what I really get is only £12 of Clubcard vouchers that I can later spend and then get 4 times their value?
So am I right in thinking then that at best this is a BOGOF offer where I get the vouchers then have to spend them (ie on same/similar wine offer) to actually get the £48 worth of them ?

edit: I see my question has been answerd while typing this and making a cuppa tea ;)

If you go to a Tesco and ask at the Customer Service desk for a copy of the current deals brochure, you'll see what's on offer. What a lot of people still do (despite Martin pointing out how wasteful it is) is spend their clubcard points on their shopping, and all they receive is face value

There are a lot of people that use their Clubcard points to pay for their Cosmos holidays, or to make a big contribution towards it, because they are worth four times their face value in deals. That's why there were people going in and buying shedloads of Birds Eye beef ready meals (for example) and then giving the food away to charities and homeless shelters, because it paif for their summer holidays to exotic locations. Obviously Cosmos holidays are only one of Tesco's deal partners, there are far more than that
