Barclays criteria!

Hi
I've held a Barclays additions account plus since Feburary this year and would like to know how long it would be before Barclays start to offer me loans? I have wages paid in every week, but don't have any overdraft as i never applied for one.
Would it look better to them if i had an overdraft, and left my saving in that account rather then withdrawing it and placing it into another account.
The reason i asked is my dad recieves around 2 a month saying he's been pre approved for a loan from his bank Lloyds, even though he has never taken a loan with them! I will be appling for a loan myself in the summer and don't won't to be declined so i am trying to put myself in a good position.

I would strongly suggest you take Lloyds' "preapprovals" with a massive pinch of salt. They are well known for trying to flog credit to anyone and everyone.
If you have a good credit score and can afford the loan, you should have no issues. Missed payments and defaults will obviously look bad, lots of searches doesn't help. So long as your account is run reasonably well (kept within limits, perhaps keeping money aside) Barclays should like you, pretty much.
I'd point out you probably won't get a precise answer, as the credit scorecards banks use, and their scoring systems, are typically confidential.0
