Hi i had a phone call awhile ago from a company called emc finacial services!! They said they could reclaim my PPI for me against my Lloyds tsb loan(5000) they sounded really good! After 4-5 months i had letter from lloyds tsb saying they would repay £1225 to my loan account and reduce my payments to £75 amonth! they also said they will pay back my 30 premiums back which equals £766 into my account and £100 plus 79 as a goodwill and intrest payment!! thats sounds good but then i got a bill from emc saying they want 25% of the settlement plus 15% vat added which equals £668!! Does anyone think that is bad or have i been had??? also the amount lloyds said they paid back into my loan account is differant to the one emc said lloyds paid back(£1379 emc said i was paid and lloyds paid in 1225)?????? Thank you for any advice Dave

Hi Dave
Shame you did not find this site before you went this direction.
Did they not tell you from the start about the charges this would involve?
Have you anything in writing from them when you started reclaiming through this company?
Wonder if they meant that would be how much you would be left with after paying out?
Hopefully someone will post to give some advice here for you.The one and only "Dizzy Di"

yes thats the company!!
Damn it looks like they do charge then going by what I just read up on.
However, I would correct that amount to them, to ensure your not left with less in your pocket.;)
If you any other claims with other finance companies, you can also do this free of charge, they can include Credit Card PPI as well etc, if you were mis sold for any particular reason, as there are reclaim templates on this site, everything free.
Just make sure you let the company know the difference in the amount and make sure your left with - with what you should be left with.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Dave forgot to say, Well done to you anyway, and most of that money should be yours, even by the time they deduct.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"

As much as I hate the tactics of many claims companies, if you employ them to do a service then they should be paid for it.
its not as if you didnt agree to this before you got them to do all the work. The fact you could have done it free of charge doesnt matter as you chose to employ them to do it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
