Motor claim - AIM called - Standard practise?

Hi

I've just had a no fault shunt in my car and been contacted by a company called AIM who say they will look after my losses. Does anyone know if this is standard practise or an unsolicited call? They seemed to know a bit about the accident already and obviously had my contact details.

Has anyone any experience of using such a company and if so what are the pro's and cons?

Many thanks!

What type of company are they? Hire? Solicitors? If you have informed your insurance company it is likely that they referred you to another company (and got a referral fee for their time). Whether or not you use them is up to you, but remember that you have an entirely free choice in the matter. Do not be pushed into anything.

    Hiya
Thanks for the responses. I reported the accident yesterday but have just again spoken to my insurer's claims team and AIM are nothing to do with them.

Try to speak to the third parties legal team and see if they are anything to do with this, chances are it could be them trying to save a few quid

Many thanks for your comments and I'll try it. ;) How would this save them?

it looks like your details have been passed on to them via either of the insurers involved

Looking at the website my guess is his/her own insurers. And as I mentioned above, there will be a referral fee in it for the insurers.

allthe2s- have you actually been injured as a result of this accident?
