I suggested to a pal that he opened a Quidco account to obtain cashback on his purchases. As he is less computer savvy than me, I tried to open an Quidco account on his laptop for him. I was able to open the Quidco site but was unable to open any other pages, unable even to join.
He has had no anti virus or anti spyware software on his laptop for the past two years! I installed Avast and Ad Aware for him and did a scan. I also installed CC Cleaner and ran that.
I'm still unable to get any pages on Quidco to open. I'm writing this on my PC at home. Any advice welcomed.

It varies a bit from browser to browser, but if his internet security level was set high then the browser may not be allowed to run active content nor set cookies, in which case you wouldn't get far.
In IE, simply adding the Quidco domain name to his trusted sites list should resolve it if that's the problem.0 -
Thanks for the reply and advice. Can you please give me an idea how to do this? (I did write that I knew more than my pal on PC's but as he knows nothing..........)0

It's a while since I last used IE, but from memory you just double-click on the globe symbol in the bottom right corner, click the green trusted sites icon and paste quidco.co.uk in and click "Add". The globe symbol should then be replaced by a green disc while you are on that website
Or something like that - but MS will probably (and pointlessly) have changed how you do it in IE8, so you may need to make it up as you go along if he has that.0 -
