Does anyone have any tips for how to get it off?
It smells, and it's very yellow!
I've washed it normally several times and it's not coming off.

Hi there
Its probably the tumeric..I doubt you will get it out -it stains everything it touches -my mum used to keep one particular wooden spoon for making picalilli -because of that-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Thank you for your reply.
I was afraid of that.
My OH was gently scolded and has instructions to use a metal spoon next time, but it seems it's too late for my poor spoon and I may just have to throw it out.0 -

Why throw it out? Keep it for the next curry.0 -
Have you tried bleach? I dont *think* it would ruin the wood. Bleach gets most food stains out.A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men :cool:

My spoons are like that and it doesn't bother me. I still use them as normal.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

You could always sand it off if you are that bothered. Gently remove the top bit with the stain, but make sure that it's all smooth when you are finished.
It's only a game

I don't think it will come out. Just keep the spoon for curry as suggested above.
Tumeric is used as a natural dye, as it is pretty lasting - doesn't wash out. It will have penetrated the wood, so I don't think sanding it will work.0 -
Turmeric is used a a fabric dye, but it isn't light fast. Try leaving the spoon in sunlight.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

Shove it into the sunlight for a couple of days ......
I recently dropped curry down a wool jumper (yes, yes, I know .. I ought to wear a bib!)
2 days in the sun ... and all goneGC - March 2024 -0
