Rebuild cost question

Could anyone guestimate the rebuild cost on a £134,000 semi-detached house. Also, what contents insurance value would people typically go for on this sort of value of property. I'm thinking 40-50,000.

Unless things have changed recently your valuation or survey should also give a rebuilding cost estimate. Contents is very much dependant on the goods you own or intend to buy but £40-50K seems quite high to me. Best way is to go around room by room and price each item roughly as you think they would cost to replace with new, then add a bit as it's better, and not that much dearer, to be a little over insured than under.0

Apparently most insurers have a standard charge depending on size, number of bedrooms, age of property etc. We were quoted £96,000 by several insurers (except Saga) for this 1930s 2-bedroom bungalow.
Saga quoted £500,000 for rebuild, but we talked to a local builder and our friendly estate agent, and they both said that £96,000 is standard for this type of property. And completely adequate.
The goods you own or intend to buy don't come into the buildings insurance. They're covered by 'contents'.
We've just re-insured with Churchill, got a really good deal with them, £139.65 one payment for the year, buildings and contents.
