Philips Freeview TV

Hi All,
I got a tv through Littlewoods at the end of February. The picture started dissappearing and then the sound would go too. After contacting Littlewoods, they got me to ring a tv repair company. The tv repair company have now had the tv since 29th April and have said that they are waiting on a part and Philips are always slow to provide parts. I'm not very happy that the tv was faulty after a few weeks of us getting it and also that it is now awaiting a part that was faulty. Where do I stand with getting a replacement from Littlewoods or do I have to keep the one that was faulty and has had a part replaced?:(
Many Thanks
Claire

Maybe nobody knows the answer to your question?
Maybe contacting your local consumer advice centre will bring you an answer or doing an internet search will bring up some info. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
So Littlewoods sold you a faulty TV.
They then should replace it - it was not fit for purpose.
Did it come with a guarantee?
(Not that that actually matters in this case)0 -
I don't know if it's too late, but you should never have accepted a repair - Littlewoods should have provided you with a new replacement after it only working for a few weeks like that.
I would suggest a call to trading standards to clarify your options would be a call well made. They are very helpful and open."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
I have had a call from the tv repair company and it is going to take another 3 weeks before they can repair it. Spoke to a very lovely lady at Littlewoods who has sent a report for them not to repair it, I can have a replacement (plus 20% discount that I got with this one) and as soon as the repair company return the other tv, I can get Littlewoods to come and pick it up.
Very happy Claire.
PS - thanks for the replies0 -
Glad you've had a positve outcome. Hopefully the repair company will send it urgently."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
