Travel Insurance question...

Probably more appropriate in here than the insurance forum (maybe)

Ok..
I'm off to Kavos or a week on 3rd July (till the 10th) and then on the 13th I'm flying out to Magaluf on a stag do till the 16th.

I doubt i'll be going anywhere else this year so annual insurance will be a bit excessive and expensive. Is it possible to get cover for x days rather than a single trip?
If so, who does them?

cheers

  • Hi there,
I work for travel insurance and the best tip I can give you is as follow:
Your bank account, credit card often run extra cover in general about £7 amonth.
Join it just before your travel and cancel when you are back. At worse it will cost you£14 tops (and believe you cant really beat that).
You may also be covered and you may not know it ( you would nt believe how many people double insure)
Important though is to ask to read their policy wording first, one credit card insurance may be better than the other maybe for £1 extra.
Beware though, should anything happen to you while you are on your trip while you are intoxicated, .... you will be on your own...

O and by the way Travel insurance do not cover for STD's so watch out... and dont do anything i wouldnt do..... now this should give you a large enough margin...

Good luck on finding your best option.

Thanks for that.. i do pay for the Natwest Advantage Gold so may be covered and it's all been paid for by credit card too..

if i'm not covered would back packer insurance cover it ok?
  • I am not familiar with Backpackers insurance i am afraid but I suggest you check both policy wording (the one from your bank). The things to compare are mainly
In the section "What is covered" and What is not covered" sometime because the cost limit is higher doesnt necessary means you are more covered as there could be more restrictions.
Hope this is of help ;)

  • please do not presume you are covered with your gold thinggy... check that you are... request the policy wording and before you go you may want to call the claim department to make sure you know what to do in case the worse happen...... tel numbers........ really the more prepared you are the better you feel great knowing you ve covered your back.
Also make sure you get your E111 from the post office which might cover you for the excess or some of it.
    Take care :D

Getting an E111 from the Post Office is very easy and very necessary as is appropriate travel insurance. Do not skimp on this - money well spent if you need to claim. Although people slam our NHS its wonderful in comparism.

You are covered by your Advantage Gold. If you want to check with them you can call the insurance section as detailed in your AdGold pack. You will also find your Travel Policy in there & you need to take that with you.

If you can't find the pack, nip into your local branch & ask them to give you a new one

    Happy Hols!!
Thanks to all who post comps :A :T

    Cheers people.

The backpacker insurance seems to be for people travelling round Euorpe and visiting various places but if my Advantage Gold covers it then i won't need it... Finding the information pack is another matter though
