uswitch for human beings?
I have relocated to a newly rented property and now I need to switch to a proper energy supplier. I tried uswitch and moneysupermarket but all of them ask the questions about current supplier, its current contract plan etc. I have not a clue about this and that's why I get wrong quotations.
Is there any web service which could just ask simple questions like how many tenants or how much energy have I consumed within last year (meter readings) etc?

If you have just relocated then the amount of energy you used last year is pretty much irrelevant as your usage may be quite different in a new property.
If you have just moved you will need to register with the supplier that is at the property anyway, until you do that you will be on their standard plan paying quarterly.
You can go to energyhelpline and use their usage estimator, that asks questions about size of property etc.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

No, it asks exactly the same things...0 -
The first thing you need to do as plushchris said is to find out who the existing suppliers are and register with them. Since you have no usage history in your new property the best thing you can do is enter your best guestimates as to the annual usage in kWh.0

You will have current suppliers, if you dont know who these are ring transco for the gas or your regional electric supplier.
Once you know who the suppliers are then you will be on the standard tariff paying quarterly, click "I dont know my usage" and it will ask you some questions about the property and what you use for heating etc.
To be honest, it doesnt really matter what you enter, you could just leave it at the default suppliers that come up (BG and you regional electric supplier) then just see what supplier/tariff comes up cheapest on the comparison.
You wont be able to switch until you have registered with the current suppliers though.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0
