Passport Photos

For a baby I took some pictures with Digital camera, cropped it to the required dimensions for passport photo and copied it to a memory card. Assuming this would be all I need to go get passport photos from a do-it-yourself machine at one of the photoshops I visited Jessops, Snappy photos and Boots in my area.

However I'm told that there is no option to print passport photos in those machines (one staff member in boots told me they had this option earlier but with newer machines this is not possible). However I can print standard 4x6 or 5x7 pictures for around 35p

Is there some software which will allow me to create a standard size (4x6 or 5x7) jpg file with 4 passport size photos on it. I can then just print it as a normal picture.

I did this with Photoshop - I put 6 copies of the passport photo on a 6" x 4" blank image. I'm sure you could equally well use a free Photoshop alternative such as the GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/). However, it's not an automatic process - I had to calculate how big to make the images so that they would print out at the right size. There may be software around that will automate it for you, but I don't know of any.
