That'd work....
The reason the word Airlines was still there, because initially it was the whole budget airlines sub board, which, over the past week has merged itself into a new beast entirely...
even if this does get rolled out, there is still scope for changing the names slightly, tweaking them to make things better, as we'll see how things work..

Might it also be worth adding "Car Hire" to the "Flights & Holiday Money Questions" section?0

We could just call it the 'Flights, Holiday Money and anything else we haven't put elsewhere' section?Gone ... or have I?0 -

Hire cars posts do seem pretty popular though and it seems logical for them to go with the flights as they are normally booked together when booking independently.0 -

Possibly, but I think to begin with it would be best to leave flights and money on their own together. They both feature the same questions over and over again, equally often for each, but car hire comes up less often so may end up being overshadowed. Only a (relatively) small proportion of people who book flights and need holiday money also book car hire. My suggestion is therefore to leave car hire in the main planning board but to keep an eye on how often it comes up and be prepared to move it if necessary.0 -
I am intrigued as to why the Vegas thread has been taken off the stickies list - this is surely one of the most popular? The reason given, that people will keep bumping it to the first page, may well work in the short term, but I fear in the long term it will mean an excellent resource is lost.
neilbond007, I agree. My mum is probably representative of most newbie types, and whilst she could find her way to the main page, she certainly would not think to look further. Hence she would just post on the front page ... just as everybody does now!Gone ... or have I?0 -

The *theory* is that there would be a sticky at the top of the page saying "New posters should read this before posting" or words to that effect, and it would be in bold or, preferably, in red to attract attention. If there were few or no other stickies it should work as there would be little to distract attention, but whether it would work in practice is not for me to speculate on.0 -

The practice is that it needs a moderator who is on the board daily to sort out the postings.
