Why don't you just email and explain that it's a lot of hassle for you to have to return it (parking costs, milage and time), so could you just keep this one instead?
If they say no, then ask if they wouldn't mind paying your (actual) costs on top of the actual postage to return it? It was their mistake, and if they won't let you keep it, then they should pay your out of pocket expenses.
