Free Ombudsman serice.

How do I actualy contact the free Ombudsman? I thought I was making progress with Abbey , but now they tell me , that although I am classed as being in financial hardship , I will still have to wait up to two weeks before I recieve a form they are sending out. They are quick off the mark when they deduct money from your account , but not so enthusiastic when they have to refund !!!

You first have to go through the complaints process with the provider. In this case Abbey. Abbey then have to review your claim/complaint and either agree with you or disagree with you. When they give their final outcome they will also supply details of the FOS and how you can refer your case to them if you wish. It is at that point you can go to the FOS and the leaflet they supply will give you details.

Just to add to dunstonh, if they haven't provided a final response within 8 weeks then you can still contact the FOS as that is sufficient time for them to do so.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
