300gb External Hard drive £99.99 - USB2 connection - Staples

Bought one at Leeds Kirkstall Road, works fine, it's big but it's a good price. No firewire port. It's reduced from £149.99. Not on the website as far as I can see.

I guess this is the Pikaone 300gb drive then??
Bought a couple of these now when Staples have reduced them down to £99. Both of mine (So I suspect all the 300gb Pikaones) have a Seagate 300gb hard drive inside.I think the cheapest I could buy the ide drive on the web was about £90 plus delivery so considering you get the hard drive inside a caddy then it's a bargain!!

It seems a good price. I have an Aldi 250gb and would be lost without it. Great for backup that all important data and they are fast on usb2.

yeah, i have been dumping full-resolution DV capture onto it and it's working fine. i have used other external drives in caddies that have given bizarre errors - one even failed completely - but this one seems very reliable. it's a bit heavy to be totally portable but smaller, thinner drives can be a bit pricey.
