GHD Straighteners purchased from Tesco.

In November 2007 i purchased some GHD straighteners for my wife, she registered these online using the hologram code which proves they are not fakes.
This is the confirmation email she received when she registered them online.

This morning they developed a fault, so she has called them up only to be told that they might not be covered under warranty as Tesco aren't an authourised retailer of GHD products?
Can they do this?

Yes
If their warranty only applies when purchased from an authorised retailer and Tesco are not one then the warranty is not valid.
You will instead need to use any statutory rights0 -
If Tesco weren't an authorised retailer, then surely they wouldn't have been able to register them with GHD, as shown above in the OP?
Have you forwarded a copy of this to GHD to show they were registered as being bought at Tesco?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I would think the time for GHD to tell you that there was no warrenty was when you registered them on the site and entered Tesco as your supplier...GHD I reckon are badly at fault here....pressure them...its not that long ago they had a bad reputation for faulty goods....I'd be interested on Tescos opinion on thisI'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j
Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:0
