Panasonic TH-42PE40 PLASMA £798.00 Table Top Stand Or £898.00 Cabinet Stand

Currys stores have these - they've only been out a short while. Basic inputs but if you just want it as a tube replacement and arn't too bothered about HD then it's a billy!

Not a bad review when priced at £2400 here

http://www.homecinemachoice.com/cgi...p?reviewid=6071

review is of the TH42PE50 and the only difference being the colour (the one for £798 is completely silver)

Stevenage have two left one on display with stand £798 and one without stand for the same £798 but not shop display so sealed.

If your lucky they might have one complete in your area.

The product code should be six digits. Also the floor stand is available to order if stores don't have them in stock for £100 more.

Why would you want to pay £100+ (i thought it cam up as £149.99 on their system) when you get it all for £798.00?

My wireless keyboard misses a char every now and then ;)

cheapest I've seen it other than currys (£1214.95 delivered) with free DVD recorder

so you can get a super duper DVD recorder of your own with the £416.95 saving and have peace of mind if anything is wrong it'll be easier to take back (well if you've go a big enough car that is)

    It's never been on-line always in-store at £798 and £898

Theses are still available and even more of a billy with the cabinet stand for £898.

Can this post be put back into the grabit board?

Seeing as my other thread got CLOSED

There is STILL a brand new boxed one on display (yes the whole boxed unit on display) in Stevenage (2:15pm today) order the cabinet stand in and get them both for £898.00 normally the stand is £400 on it's own!

I would certainly imagine there are more around the country

Theres are reasons why they are so cheap "as ever".

    1.Plasma's are unreliable

    2. One of the very few electrical items I would insist on taking out an extended warranty on "very expensive to repair".

    3. LCD has won the battle over plasma as the next gen format. Remember with a lot of luck even a plasma TV will last for the best part of 10 years by which time HD will long have been the dogs B's and this TV does not support HD. Still I supose you could go round to a mates house and look longingly at his HD.

If you were one of the people who bought Betamax....go ahead.

That sounds a bit too "black and white" for my liking - no pun intended! :p

I'm sure my daughter would love to have this for her playstation games if I decide to go for an HD model in a few years
Thanks to all who post constructively.
