Sorry this is going to sound really thick but i haven't got a clue about these things:o
The thing is i have had to nick the small 14inch telly from the dining room for our bedroom as that telly in there broke.I was going to get another one for the dining room but i got thinking. At the moment the PC is in the bedroom too but i might move it to the dining room and then get a TV card for the PC.I don't know how they work though.Someone posted about one in grabbit which is a USB type of one so does that just plug into a USB port and you install the software that must come with it and you're away watching freeview or do you need to plus extra things in or buy more stuff?
At the moment i have a freeview box in the dining room but the ariel i have which is an outside one in that room isn't very good so i didn't get a very good picture.
This is the one someone linked to in Grabbit
http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=12811&GroupID=0
So basically what i need to know is do i buy that, plug it inot the USB and then i have freeview or is there more to it than that?
Thanks guys

If you havn't got a decent aerial you won't get freeview on your PC or anywhere else.
If it were me I'd get the cheapest proper TV and not bother with the PC.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Hi
First you need to know if you can get freeview in your area, just enter postcode

I quite like the look of this one, but I believe you have to get a better aerial, not the one supplied. and yes you just plug it in your usb port

Thanks for the replies:)
I can get freeview as we have the box and have had it iin the past but as i say it's just my outside ariel isn't the best but i suppose that's just a quick mend of the wires on the end really. So with that link you gave for kryton and i see it includes an ariel i wouldn't have to have an outside one as that would do the job?Darren0 -
try getting an analouge TV tuner card then you'll know it'll work with whatever ariel you have. PCI ones start from about £18 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Products.ASP?CatID=53&Category=Multimedia%2FTV&Thumbnails=yes Some of the higher spec cards have remotes and allow you to record programmes to your hard drive or DVD.2009 wins: Signed Saxon CD, Solar Torch, Drumsticks, Priest Feast Tix, Watch, Hammerfest tix :beer:0

Aldi are currently selling an internal tv card with remote control for a about £30.
What I have done - I have bought a signal booster from Argos (about £10) and attached it to my downstairs tv. I have then run a length of co-axal cable to my computer, which now gives me the same excellent reception as the tv.0 -
OK thanks again guys:)Darren0
