Please help me with Egg!

Hi all,

I submitted a claim to Egg regarding the mis-selling of PPI on a loan back in Octobr 2007!, they rejected it (of course) and I sent it off to the FSO in February 2008, then finally 3 weeks ago it was allocated an adjudicator! Yippee I thought, he send the letter to Egg requesting that they repy me all monies due and Egg had until 8th May to respond.

Anyway, 8th may has been and gone and no response from Egg.

Do they usually just ignore the FSO?

Anyway it has now been passed to the Obudsman and I really want to know how long i need to wait now, I thought once it was assigned it was delt with, but am I now right back down to the bottom of the pile?

We no longer live in the Uk and I am dealing with te FSO via email, please can someone advise me on a rough timescale.

Do you think i'm looking at another year long wait?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi there

If this is now being passed to the ombudsman, I doubt you would be waiting as long as you have done the first time round.

However, as soon as this is with the ombudsman they will give the other party a dated timescale.

If your financially struggling and this has worsened over the last few months, also mention this to the FOS as well, it may help to let them know in order for them to consider moving this on quicker for you, good luck.;)

    Hi

I have just found this post because i was going to ask the same question. that is exactly what has happened to me all be it i still live in UK. It took ages for the ombudsman to deal with my complaint, as they are so busy, but once they did they decided very quickly in my favour and gave Egg until 12 May. I phoned this morning and the adjudicator said Egg had not responded which is common with Egg. He said they give them 1 or 2 days grace and then its passed to the ombudsman. No idea how long that takes.

Sorry i couldn’t be of any help, just so you know your not alone. Let me know how you get on, if your a week ahead of me!!

    Hi Carl

Will keep you posted. SOOOO frustrating! Just when I thought it was sorted. Do you think that the fact Egg can't be bothered will go in our favour? Fingers crossed.

Just wish they could give some rough time scale, that way I know what I looking at, be it 3 months or whatever, just wish I knew!!!!

    Hi Lynz

Im sure the ombudsman will rule in our favour when he gets to it the question is how long it will take. Like you said, i really thought it was done and dusted and the cheque was in the post. Now its back to the waiting game. I have had a letter informing me it has been passed to the ombudsman from the adjudicator. So watch this space.....

    Any news yourself?

    Hi Carl

Just thought i'd update you. I emailed the FOS again on Wed and my case was put to the final decision team and marked as URGENT!!! Yippee, anyway still told they coud not give me a time scale.

Got email tonight, it is done!!!!!

Final decision team agree with the adjudicator, and agree Egg need to pay up.

They now have until the 23rd June to be intouch or it can then go to court!!!!

    Hope you hear soon.

Thanks for the update Lynz, 23rd of June still sounds like a long time off but at least you have a positive result and a date and i guess if they plan to pay they will do so sooner. I still havent heard, but more hopeful now.
