Item hasn't arrived for my buyer

I sold some brand new shoes on ebay and i have had an email from the buyer saying that they haven't arrived. The buyer paid on the 4th of may and i posted on the 5th of may. I have proof of posting but where do i go from here? is there any way i can chase it up? The royal mail website only mentions about compensation But the lady really wants the item not her money back. It was sent by 2nd class so i would have thought she should have got it on thursday or friday at the very lastest.

You have to wait 15 days before the Royal Mail count an item as lost and you can put a claim in. As the item is not tracked you are unable to prove if the buyer has recieved it or not0

It's early days yet. Respond to your buyer promptly and be reassuring that they will not lose out. Ask them to wait another few days (a week would be ideal) and then contact you again if item has still not arrived.
If item fails to arrive you will need to refund all of their original payment. After 15 working days and asusming you have a certificate of posting you can put in a claim to Royal Mail. Royal Mail will pay you out the item cost plus actual postage paid. However buyer does not have to wait for you to start your refund claim, most will wait a couple of weeks but they will want a refund promptly.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
