Well CTT, thanks for that little comment.
I never said I didn't want to repay our debts. I am trying my hardest working every hour that God sends.
Its not my fault I was off work for a year following major neck surgery then another year following abdominal surgery.
And its not my husband's fault he was left in massive debt by his first wife who forged his signature to run up huge bills on store cards and catalogues. Neither is it his fault he was made redundant after 27 years with the same firm.
He is crippled with arthritis now as a result of the hard graft he put in in a pretty grotty job but is working at everything he can.
Its pretty hard seeing a big strong man crying because he feels so useless.
CCCS advised bankruptcy for us but we refused.0 -

Thanks lou. :A
Shouted at the cats and helped OH split some logs and felt better.(No point telling him not to and "protect his joints" as the Dr says. )
Course...now we're wrecked but at least the log shed is full of free logs which saves us from putting the oil central heating on.
Could do with another blizzard so I can save the petrol by not going to work. Think we will start some seeds off today for free vegs.0 -

Dont they understand we now live in a cool bankruptcy society.
how judgemental was that ... its generally better t get the full facts before feeling that you are in a position to make sarcastic comments like that dotn you think otherwise you just end up making an a##e of yourself!:EasterBun ...what more do I need to say?!

Janey I think CTT has managed to offend just about everyone on this board with those words
I was advised bankruptcy like yourself but also want to repay my debts even if it takes me forever.
If they think bankruptcy is cool then they obviously haven't read posts on here & realise what the majority of people have to go through.
Anyway don't feel you have to justify yourself to people like this they obviously don't have a clue about the things people are having to do & go through on this board. Everyone should be really proud of what they're achieving here :j
As for HFC I'm sorry about the letter you received, I think I told you in another thread about the problems I've had with them. The phonecalls have now eased off alot so I'm hoping that they've heard from CCCS but I wouldn't be surprised if I received a letter similar to yours soon!0 -

Can I just second what everyone else is thinking? You are a moron!
I hope if you ever need help/advice in the future that you receive plenty of helpful, supportive and informative replies like your own!

Can I just comment that with HFC it really does depend on who you get on the phone. For exampe, I had a laptop on credit from Dixons (yes hang my head in shame
) @ 30% so I wanted to pay this off asap and the guy told me i'd have to send in a cheque etc and jump through all sorts of hoops. and no you cant pay over the phone.
Rang up a week later and this chap said yep you can pay it now sir no probs, outstanding balance is £xxx, what type of card do you wish to pay with? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
