We are shortly off to France and we want to be able to watch French TV while we are there, but no TV is provided in the holiday home. We are considering purchasing a small flat screen TV with freeview to take with us but no one in Comet or Currys is able to tell us whether a TV purchased in the UK would work in France.
We are not expecting to be able to watch UK programmes; we are quite happy with French programmes, but does anyone have any experience to know whether a modern UK TV will work in France.
Thanks for any help

As long as your tv can receive/process seecam input, brits broadcast in PAL and yanks in NCTS, then you will be fine and funky, by the by most modern lcd/plasmas are multi input so it may not be a problem but before you buy anything google it to make sure.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0

The answer is yes.
It's why the instruction manual that comes with a TV set is in a number of different languages.0 -
A " modern " TV will work as long as it has Freeview built in and is connected to an aerial that is capable of giving an adequate signal.0
