Cool supers - I've just called them and they have told me that mine has been despatched today. So I will get it in the next couple of days. Then I guess I'll have to phone to complain and hope they say the same that they said to you.
So....are you going to take it to a store and get the twinpack then.....or just keep the single for the lovely price of £9.75? (with the £20 off).0 -
I do need a twin handset but if get a refund then use the voucher i`ll actually only be paying £24.75p for the twin pack assuming they are £44.75p in store.

when i called i was only given the option of a return (they immediately knew which product i was talking about though)
i argued a bit but got nowhere: they don't seem to care about the law of contract!: it's very cheeky to discover the mistake, correct it, then ignore it and supply the wrong item even though they knew they are breach of contract.
so i asked to speak to their supervisor and after a few minutes wait (on their rip off 0870 number) i was given the option of returning it and getting a voucher to get £20 off the twin set OR keeping it and a £20 to be sent out.
for thanks supers for sharing the refund info.
As long as the voucher turns up, it'll make the phone an amazing £8.26!0 -
Result! phone arrived this morning - one handset - phoned currys customer service - £20 voucher is in the post. Brilliant!0

I feel very upset and cross with currys today. I phoned customer service this evening when my phone arrived and they won't do anything. They say they can only go on what is currently on the website.
The person I spoke to went and talked to his supervisor but still would only say I could return the phone if I wanted. I explained I was not satisfied and would be taking the matter further as the single handset phone was not the one I ordered. They refused to budge on the matter and I took the name and team of the person I had talked too but I still feel very unhappy. I really needed a twin handset phone and have been waiting for ages to find one at a price I could afford and now I am left with either the trouble of returning this one or putting up with just one phone which I never wanted.
What else should I have done? Anyone help please.
Thanks.0 -

Currys are a bunch of chancers.
Try phoning again, explain the problem again and try and be polite with them. As soon as you start getting nowhere, repeat your problem again. I know it sounds daft but if you repeat it a couple of times then they get frustrated with you but of course can't really show it because they are probably being recorded. Then stress the fact that you have a contract that they are blatently in breach of. If you really wish to push it speak to the supervisor and state that you have screenshot which clearly shows that the item ordered was advertised as "Package Type": "Twin" and "Num. of Handsets Supplied": "2".
It may have been a policy change because it's costing them too much regarding the voucher: I got the distinct impression that the muppet i spoke to realised immediately what item it was and was just chancing his arm and thought he could fob me off. I'm not even sure he actually spoke to a supervisor when i asked to speak to one. (i'm also not sure that the call centre is located in the UK - anyone else get that impression?)
If they really aren't caving at all - use the following as an argument of last resort: you have a colleage/friend/brother/sister-in-law that also purchased the phone at the same time and was offered a £20 voucher as compensation for their mistake and breach of contract. And see how they react to that. It's a little dodgy as they then know what you're after - but as long as you make them think you're willing to take it to the small claims court then you're in with a chance.
Remember don't take any crap. Try and be courteous, but remember they are trying to screw you over: they knew they were supplying the wrong item, and edited their website and still supplied you the wrong item.0 -
And also - according to their T&Cs (which I included in the original post)- if they discover there is a mistake on the website with either the price or description they are supposed to notify you first before despatching - and they didn't even do that.
I think that stating you have the screenshot will also defintiely help - I can send you mine if you need it. I saved it as a pdf file.0
