Casio Exilim EX-Z100 with crooked lense

I dropped my camera whilst taking a photo and now the zoom lens leans slightly to the right. Now it wont retract and as a result I am unable to take pictures, view pictures or download pictures. The lens tries to move when switched on, but nothing happens.
I use my camera every day so I am lost without it. Can it be fixed? Any rough ideas on how much?

Sorry, i did sound a bit blunt in that post lol. You could Contact Casio, Because the Warrenty will be through them anyway, Explain the situation. They Might ask for a serial number or some sort of number that either on the camera or the camera box. You normally get a warrenty car with cameras as far as i'm aware. but they should repair it for free.

A normal warranty won't usually cover a camera for accidental damage, so it's highly unlikely they will repair it for free.

Unless it's a very expensive model, it probably won't be worth repairing, but if you speak to Casio, they might offer you a deal - for example if you send in the damaged one they will sell you another (possibly refurbed) at a heavily discounted price.

Whether they do or not is up to them - it will be purely on the basis that it is a gesture of goodwill.

No way it will be covered under Casio warranty for accidental damage (and even more so if you can't find the receipt). Check your household contents insurance policy and travel insurance policies, because you might have some cover under one of them-however either way you're going to need to provide some proof of purchase.

How Much Is The Camera Worth, I Brought a Olympus E500 for £600 and i pushed the car in to hard one day and bent all the pins , phoned them and told them it was a accident. They asked me to take it to comet , comet sent back to them they repaired it and they sent it back to me, all for free and i had it for about 7 months. they covered me on accidental damage, and that was standard warrenty. Hense why i thought it would be the same

I don't see how any m/facturers warranty can cover accidental damage, you might just drop it into water in that case. It's designed to just cover manufacturing defects. However a call to Casio and a suitably grovelling approach might work-nothing to lose, so certainly worth a try.

Don't some credit cards cover for accidental damage? Visa used to for up to 90 days. Worth a phone call to check (if you bought it on a credit card). Your travel insurance is also worth a look but probably has a fat excess.

Then unless you registered the warranty with them I fear you have no way to claim.
