Camera Bag for my new camera

Looked earlier in Jessops and Currys and the bags semed dear but not as dear as the bags made by the camera manufacturers.

Any suggestions for bag for bridge type of camera. It doesn't have to be sold as a camera bag as all the bridge camera bags are like a 'box shape' and would be annoying to carry around.

They may not be the cheapest, but I went for a Lowepro soft case because it had a rain cover velcro'd into a pouch at the back - so if you're out on a mountainside (or wherever) and it's tipping it down, you can worry about other things than whether your camera case is filling up with water!

I use a Lowepro bag, and I like it a lot. I think I got it new from eBay for quite a lot less than it was on Amazon at the time.

I have a Crumpler Pretty Boy 4000 XL which is just right for my DSLR and spare lens. Although it's XL size, it really isn't that big. Perhaps the smaller size would suit your bridge camera better.
