Paypal Problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi
Has anyone else had problems with Paypal and does anyone know if I can do anything about my situation??? I sold some vouchers on ebay and got an instant payment through paypal. The day after I sent the vouchers (recorded delivery), as I always thought if I received the money from paypal all was good...NO, as 2 days later paypal said they wanted the money back and today have taken it from my bank, as the person (who ruin places like ebay and paypal by taking advantage) used a fraudulent credit card!!!!. This was for £90 odd pounds so quite a lot of money...really peeved off!!!!!

    i may be wrong,

but i didnt think paypal had the authority to just take money from your bank accoutn/credit card......

if the money was still in your paypal account, then I am afraid that they can as per their t's & c's
smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to.... ;)

    Bummer!

Was the money still in the Paypal account?

Must admit I thought once the money had come through that was it, but maybe not.

Hope you get it sorted... :)

I had transferred the money over to my bank account! and yes they have taken it back out of my bank 3 weeks later.
I have since typed in paypal on the search engine and noticed on other chat forums that people are having problems like paypal asking/taking the money back after 2-3 months.
I really have no faith now as I also beleived that to receive the money was a final seal!!!!

    That's a bit of a worry!

Must admit I dont accept Paypal anymore purely because of the charges.

  • I always assumed PayPal was a safe as paying for something with your credit card - how wrong I was! I paid £35 to join a betting syndicate for 8 weeks. I never heard from them again so contacted PayPal for a refund. I thought as the company wouldn't be able to prove that they had given me what I had paid for I would get a refund. PayPal couldn't contact the company but wouldn't refund my money because the company's PayPal account didn't have any money left in it! You'd think PayPal would refund the money still wouldn't you? Not so. Proves that paying with PayPal is as reliable as paying someone with a cheque.

I've had exactly both of the two situations mentioned above.

Paypal are a con for the amount of money they take from you in fees! I now am very very wary of them and anything that's high value I demand the buyer has a confirmed paypal account from someone with a good, long, well proven ebay record, else they'll have to send me a cheque.

My husband had Paypal ask for £25 back for a dvd writer he sold to a guy 3months previously. This was due to "fraudulent use of a credit card" . Then to top that WE got charged a further £7 for "charges incurred to PayPal" by the credit card company.
We ended up down £32 and a dvd writer and we were the innocent party !!! PayPal suck !
