Well unless its a 28 inch widescreen TV stay well clear of it.
With the square type its simply yesterday's technology and not a lot of use to you. .
Its EXACTLY the SAME technology - just a different shape.
Also there are still a lot of broadcasts (and always will be of pre-1995 or even later programs) in 4:3 format so on your widescreen, unless you like want to watch people with squashed heads and bodies, you will have to filp it into 4:3 mode and have to "end up with blank spaces" up and down the lefthand and righthand of your widescreen.
However that is not really the point with this particular TV.
A bog standard 28 inch for £129 may be average value.
But, this TV has TWO tuners.
Allows picture in picture.
The PIP SCAN feature will display 12 images of what is on 12 other channels at the bottom of the main display.
It has 3 AV connectors
2 x SCARTs and S-video / Cinch phonos
Headphone socket with independant audio control
The audio includes a graphic equalizer with 4 presets, a spatial feature and Virtual Dolby Surround Sound
Amongst others it also has a very useful Automatic Volume Level facility - ever notice how the TV always gets LOUDER when the adverts start? Not with this TV if AVL is turned on.
It has FASTTEXT with 7 stored pages, sleeptimer and several preset picture settings.
Also has a CHILD LOCK that is configurable PER TV CHANNEL - want to allow BBC1 & BBC2 but not Channel4 or Five - this can do this.
AND it comes with a 3 year guarantee. There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

That really does sound fantastic value!
I've had my old 4:3 TV for a few years and it was one of those that brands that nobody had heard of and went for a snip of a bargain. I'd never pay for a 'brand name' TV ever again. The bargain that you've bought just demonstrates that you can get value, brilliant features - and a three year guarantee to boot!
Good luck with your TV; I'd be interested to know how you get on with all the features!
Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.0 -

You obviously know your TV's. I just got it because it was cheap and big. I will have to play as you suggested, now that I have a few days off. The AVL sounds good.
Tell me will this TV crop the picture so that some of the words or people are missing off the edges? Or is it new tech. that means the whole viewable picture will be displayed? With my old TV, there was always bit of the picture missing.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Well I think for £50 more it's still better to wait until you see one of the 28 inch widescreen offers about. All the mag articles that I have seen reccomend that anyone buying a new tv now go for a widescreen model.
But I suupose its a case of "you pays your money and you takes your choice"
happy xmas to all0
