28 inch TV for £129

Lidls are offering a welltech 28 inch square TV for £129. Offer starts on Monday 20th DEC. No name brand but 3yr guarantee can't be bad. Usual refinements such as remote, stereo, 2 scarts etc.. I don't think I have seen cheaper??

Hi John.

I've sent you the same PM that I sent to N9eav & RevSteve.

N9eav has yet to "play" with his TV and cannot confirm what it actually does on the PIP SCAN. I'm hoping for a reply later.

RevSteve has checked and his TV DOES NOT scan the same as mine. His works as I would have expected it to work.

The actual manual is a little scant (or possibly ambiguous in interpretation) with the information as to EXACTLY what it should display.

I'm checking to see if any of the local stores still have any in stock so that I can swap it if this indeed turns out to be a fault.

I'll be interested in what yours does.

Well unless its a 28 inch widescreen TV stay well clear of it. With the square type its simply yesterday's technology and not a lot of use to you. You will simply end up with blank spaces across the top and bottom when a widescreen format is being broadcast. Anyway I have seen 28 inch widescreen on sale at differect places from as little as £179...cant remember exactly where but I think it may have been tesco. Ok they are not the completely flat tube type ...a slight curve ...but I have never felt that paying £200 extra was enough to justify the completely flat screen anyway. Lidl does have some good offers though like blood pressure monitors £12.99 or so...usually cost up to £50 at argos. These are not on sale at the moment at lidl but come around again very often.
