Hi all.

I bought an online train tkt about 2 months ago for myself & my son - using F&F Railcard.

Now it looks like 1 grandparent will also be accompanying us.

Is it possible to purchase it somehow so it can take into account the F&F railcard discount?

Alos, would we be abale to chage the seating pattern so we can sit together?

Thanks

  • Do you have the online tickets you purchased?

If yes take the current tickets to a ticket office and ask for an extra adult family discounted ticket. They should be able to do it based on the fact that you already have the other tickets.

As for seats, hope that they can reserve 3 together.

    Hi

I have all the bits and pieces - tickets, receipts etc. Just take it along to the local station?

Do you think I could get it at the same adult price as I paid, or will it be the price on the day + the discount?

If you can do it it will be the price on the day.

Does the grandparent have a senior railcard of his/her own? If the above advice doesn't work a ticket bought with a senior railcard will only be marginally more expensive than it would if bought as an adult on a F+F railcard. As for seat reservations, they should be able to select you one near the ones you've got if you tell them, but I wouldn't worry too much if it doesn't work out - you'll almost certainly be able to sit together on the train anyway.

I had this problem with a virgin ticket. Virgin are the worst they will do anything to make you buy a new ticket.

I bought another set online one child and one adult and just used the adult -the child fare was £2.10 so it was well worth it. Look online now and look at natonal rail enquires to see what deal you can get.
