Dorothy Perkins

Not sure if I am in the right category here but I couldn't find anywhere to put it.

I was wondering if anyone knows how I can get the email or the telephone number for the Head Office. I am wanting to make a complaint but I want to make it to the CEO so something actually gets done about it.

Long story short I ordered goods online with them over 2 weeks ago, still hadn't recieved them yesterday. Contacted them to find out why and they told me it had been returned to the depot becuase there was no one in to collect the parcel.
I have been in the house every day for the last 2 weeks awiting for parcels so I knew this was a lie, I popped out last Monday afternoon to get some baby milk as OH wouldn't be back until the evening and I needed it then. Anyway ... when I got back there was no card through the door saying they had tried to post (I was gone 30 mins)

When I filled my order in online I asked for it to be sent to my billing address coz I hadn't had time to change my account address when I moved 4 weeks ago.

When I phoned up they told me they had sent it to my account address and if I wanted the items I would have to reorder them (minus my 20% discount, which was the offer that day!)

So all because they sent it to the wrong address I now do not have my items for holiday, I don't have my refund yet and I don't have an apology or anything from Dorothy Perkins because they did not read the information that stated to send it to the billing address not the account address!

Rant over

Did you get an order confirmation from them telling you that they were going to send the goods to your account address or did this show your billing address?
  • I got an email but I didn't look to see which address they were sending too as I had said billing address so expected it to be that :(

The billing address is the address of the card you use isnt it? If you have a card that is at a different address from your account address and you ask to send it to the billing address they send it to the card address don't they, if you know what I mean

Why are you buying things from Dorothy Perkins??

You were on a debt repayment plan with them only paying them £8 a Month out of £300+
I doubt the CEO would be overly enthusiastic to help you if you aren't paying even the nominated minumum payment each month.

As for delivery, you should have received an email confirmation stating which address they will deliver to, which one does it state??

I actually bought the items with cash not through my Dorothy Perkins Card and I would appreciate you not to question why I am buying things, it is my money and I shall buy if I want to buy.

As explained I have bought the items via my debit card NOT through my Dorothy Perkins Account so this has nothing to do with my debt management plan.

Do you really think Dorothy Perkins would let me put things on my account without paying for them :rotfl:

You need to check back on your order confirmation. If this states that they were sending your order to your billing (card) address then you have reason to be upset as the despatch department have clearly made a mistake. But if the confirmation shows that they were going to send to your account address then I don't think the CEO would be interested in your complaint as DP would argue that it was your responsibility to check the confirmation. Do you still have this email confirmation that you can go back and check?

    Apples2 has a valid point

All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.

Sounds like you've had a lucky escape from running up yet more debt.;) Especially as you are going on holiday.

    It's definitely NOT your money!!

Rather than pay your debts you think it okay to ignore and carry on splashing the cash and going on holidays???

    How irresponsible can you get??:mad::mad:
Beware of imitations e.g. Robert Sterling

It's an unfortunate set of events but as others have said, you need to check whether your confirmation was correct or not - either way would have been their mistake but it is something you could have checked.

I would not bother the CEO, I would email again explaining the entire situation. If it seems they confirmed the correct address but delivered to the wrong address then they might well be willing to still apply the 20% discount - but do be careful not to take it out on the individual you are corresponding with. Be calm and set out the facts and you have a much better chance of getting the outcome you want.

If it's too late for the goods you want then calmly again tell them the details of what went wrong and ask for a refund straight away and a voucher code for future use.

Or better still a payment towards the money you owe them:rolleyes:
