Price comparison sites

Could you give more details please?
Which site in particular?
What are the details you are putting in?
If it's usage in £s rather than kWh, it's because comparison sites make estimates/calculations to turn those £'s into kWh (and errors invariably occur) - that leads to possible differences. To get accurate comparisons, always input your usage in kWh. Contact your current supplier if you need to know what that is - they are required to provide such information on request."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Thanks, i have now got the figures from my present supplier, but all the "Comparison" sites are different, how are you supposed to know which one is correct?0

It is crazy aint it?
I go to confused.com, i enter my details.
I go to Unravelit.com, enter the same details.
They both come up with the same tarrifs in the same order with DIFFERENT savings.
My 'best' is with eon, I will save £410.39 according to confused, I will save £315.95 with the same company and tarrif according to unravelit????
I think just take a quick look then work it out for yourself.
Confused.com are even adding it up wrong or they are using the wrong kwh price for gas and electricity, useless!
I may just try first utility and get a 'free' smart meter, they are cheaper than my current supplier and, hopefully, we will save by keeping a close eye on what we use.0 -

If you could please provide the details requested we will be able to better advise you where the differences you are experiencing are originatiing from."Now to trolling as a concept. .... I am experiencing the same.
Current supplier : NPower
Tariff: Standard economy 7
Usage : Day 6995 (39.35%)
Night 10785 (60.65%)
Total 17780 KW/h
Cheapest Tariff by comparison website
EnergyHelpline.com - EDFenergy online 6 - £265,- (17%)
Moneysupermarket.com - EDFenergy online energy v6 - £265.02
Uswitch.com - EDFenergy online version 6 - £382.24
At least they all agree that i could save money by switching to EDF. The difference what i could save between the 3 is £117. Is Uswitch taking the p*** ?
Is it just a lure to use them to switch via their website?
Maybe i am cynical and they use different calculations......
I double checked the input just to make sure.0 -

I'm guessing Eastern as for that region I get the same results with Energyhelpline & Moneysupermaket as you get.
However, with uSwitch I get £257.45 saving (the slight difference of about £7.50 on an annual cost of over £1300 is probably due to the fact uSwitch allow you to give accurate day & night figures, whereas the other 2 sites limit that to 5% bands i.e. 60% night usage.)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Can you actually switch to EDF via Uswitch now? Last I heard you couldnt switch to EDF or BG via Uswitch (Never use Uswitch myself)
Why waste time comparing the comparison sites, they all agree that EDF will be cheapest for you, When I do comparisons I check one or maybe two comparison sites if they both agree on the top supplier/tariff then I switch.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
Yes Premier you are right. It is the eastern region.
At the moment we pay weekly on a card and then settle when we get the bill every quarter. In the section where they ask about your current supplier, i choose the Regular Payment Scheme. The suggested payment method for 'new' supplier i put as monthly direct debit. If i change the first one to monthly direct debit (on the uswitch website) , there is actually alot less of a differenceIt goes down to a saving of £236.45
@Plushchris
Not wasting my time imo. I prefer to get it right before i switch. Also if you read back, there was a post about the big differences you can encounter using different comparison websites. Premier asked for more details in answer to that post to see where the differences could be. Hence i put mine in as it was quite a difference.0 -

Ah, I see.
When I did the comparison, I think I put in pay on receipt of bill as current method as that is what standard normally is. I did choose pay monthly by DD as the requested option as that is what the other 2 sites indicated when I said show all on them.
It's probably better to look at the actual annual cost envisaged with a new supplier rather than the claimed savings. Here the prices are the same (save for the small variation as previously mentioned)"Now to trolling as a concept. ....
