Good afternoon all, have had a letter from my HR department at work, they want to obtain a medical report from my GP. Rang my boss as i thought they were trying to find a way of sacking me - but he said it is standard procedure. I said i had no idea i would be sick for this long and as i have something rare it is hard to tell as they don't know much about it.

Yea I think this is normal Katie. Something to do with getting some of the money back from your NI contributions for your sick pay I think.

It is normal - i just called my boss - we talked about when i am ready i can go back gradually.
