Confused - is this cash advance???

I went to Nando's tonight and paid by MasterCard. Just got home and looked at my receipt and it says above the amount charged "TOTAL CASH ADVANCE"

HUH? Why the heck was this a "cash advance? What is going on????

Also, the receipt printed my FULL CREDIT CARD NUMBER with the start and expiry date - how stupid is that?! Good job I kept it safe.

Thanks for any insight here, I am confused/worried!

Wait and see what happens with your statement. If it has been processed as a cash advance then you will have incurred interest.

No they are not but as yet it has not been established how the transaction has been applied to your account. If you do not want to wait then telephone the credit card company and ask them.

Have nandos given you their copy of the credit card receipt? It is often the case that the company's copy of the credit card receipt has the full card details on it, so if it is, the wording total cash advance could mean something completely different to Nandos rather than the way your transaction is processed with your credit card company. This is assuming that you do have Nandos copy of the credit card reciept. Definately worth a phone call to your credit card company to check.

Did it also show the 3 digits from the back of the card on there ?

If not having the full number with dates would make it useless to anyone anyway wouldnt it ?

"Useless" is a strong word, but the information is certainly less useful without the 3 digit code.
