She wasn't overdrawn at the time she got the charges. She had a balance of £0.00. Hence not overdrawn, hence charges shouldn't have been put on the account.

thats not how i read it?

OP's understanding of her balance was that it was zero
What I dont understand is how I've managed to incur interest on a balance of £0.00!

    but clearly this
'Balance brought forward from previous statement: -£ 59.73

shows that this was not the case, hence my reasoning

Most banks will apply charges, 14 - 28 days after the event occurred, so they will (presumably) because she had previously been overdrawn.

Account was od at start o month and then balance was paid in full on 08/04 - statement says charging for 11/04 onwards but at this point op not o/d. All of a sudden the charges stop around the 20/04 so looks to me like they believe she had a negative balance up until 20/04.

OP also says charges debiting account end of may so this is the 14-28 days and still doesn't explain.
