Help with protecting my veggies from the kids

Firstly Thanks to everyone who gave me advice about planting veggies. I am now the proud owner of 2 troughs with carrots, brocolli, beetroot, onions, radishes and lettuce growing in them. Hopefully i wont kill them all!
My next question is what would you recommend to help keep my toddlers fingers out of the troughs? They are right behind my conservatory door and in easy reach.
What would you all suggest?
Sam

Mousetraps. Works a treat after the first time they get caught.
What sort of broccoli have you got in troughs?
ps don't really use mousetraps. The bigger rat traps you get, are much more successful.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

You could try covering them with netting or fleece but it doesn't mean they won't rip it or poke holes in it to see what's underneath.
Did the toddlers "help" you sow the crops? If so you will probably have more success in keeping their fingers out as kids of all ages are less destructive when it's "theirs".I'm not cynical I'm realistic
