Laptop not working within warranty period-Advise please

Any advise please on this , with a nonresponsive Asus warranty centre after the laptop, an Eee pc stopped working , an year after buying it,Asus warranty states that it is for 18 months.
Have been contacting the Asus customer centre since January i.e 3 months, no response whatsoever, keep being told that a courier would be sent to collect the laptop,but nothing has happened yet!
I then sent off a letter 3 weeks back , still no response!
Any idea what to do ,thanks any help appreciated.

also your credit card company if you brought it on your credit card.
the letter you sent, was it recorded delivery, if not send another record, and even an email so they cant pull the old we didnt receive it trick. This way you know that in the eyes of the law you have supplied them with your case in a durable medium and so it will not matter if the case goes on for longer than your warranty as the claim was made before.
Something is odd, i would do as above and keep calling, asak to be put through to managers, be firm but not aggressive or rude.
state in your letter and/or email that if you do not hear a reply within 14 days or if they do not resolve the issue then you will take them to small claims court for the repair/replacement of the laptop and your court fees. I doubt they will let it get that far as they will lose and they knowBack by no demand whatsoever.0 -
who did you buy the laptop from? You have a contract with the retailer, and they are responsible under the Sales of Goods Act to ensure your product works as advertised. They might try and tell you that you must contact the manufacturer but this is not the case. They have to prove the laptop was in fit condition for 18 months after purchase. After this you have to prove that the laptop was damaged when you bought it.
Contact the retailer, say it has developed a fault and that they must honour the Sales of Goods Act and sort out the problem. They will only HAVE to arrange a warrantee repair for you, and you can't demand a refund or a replacement (unless the repair fails), but they are the ones you should be in contact with. You CAN approach the manfacturer, but usually the retailer is easier.
